Savvy Favorites: Contemporary & Modern Round Dining Room Tables

In my previous blog post, I shared an e-design project I finished up for a client who requested a chic and contemporary dining room. In case you missed it, hop over to read that post! After searching for the perfect dining room table, I thought this was a great opportunity for another edition of Seven Savvy Favorites!
I’ve gathered up 21 round dining room tables, broken down into three different price points- and best of all, most of these modern tables have customer ratings of 4 stars or higher!
I’m also going to share some pros and cons for a round dining room table, as well as one key tip for picking out the right dining table shape.

How to pick the correct dining table shape for your space:
When you’re shopping for a dining room table, you should start by determining the shape you need for your room.
A simple way to figure this out is to look at the shape of your room, and mimic that shape for your table.
For instance, if your room is rectangular, then your table should be rectangular (or oval) in shape. If your room is square, then a round or square table would be ideal. However, this is a general rule, and there are certainly exceptions.

Like any piece of furniture you’ll purchase for your home, everything comes with its pros and cons, and round dining tables are no exception… although the pros far outweigh the cons. So before you make your decision and pick out a round dining room table, here are a few things you should be aware of.
Pros: Round Dining Tables
- Good for small spaces
- Great for entertaining
- The round shape creates a good traffic flow
- No sharp edges, in case you have small children
- May come with an additional insert to provide extra seating
Cons: Round Dining Tables
- Some leg configurations can be tricky to work around and limit the number of seats you can have

Looking for a larger modern dining table, larger than 60” but less than 72”. We now have a 12’ x 12’ dining room. Love large dinner parties. But want to seat 8’ish. Thoughts?
